Autumn Layering

Welcome, Autumn!

The calendar has finally ticked over here in the Big Apple and we are welcoming the crisp mornings with open arms and steaming mugs of coffee! This is my absolute favorite season for fashion; I love layering different textures and cozying up to take long walks and watch the leaves turn, pick pumpkins and bake cookies. Call me basic, but I can’t get enough! So when my friend Beth at Chatham Threadworks sent me this snuggly, stylish and (my favorite!) personalized knit vest, I couldn’t wait to find all kinds of ways to style it into my fall wardrobe. My best girlfriend Ashley fell in love with mine when she saw me wearing it out for the first time and had to order one for herself! I convinced her to take some photos with me to show how every gal needs one of these super wearable and versatile vests!

Ashley shows off her pretty script “A” by belting the vest and draping the collar fabric like a shawl over her shoulders. It looks feminine and chic and I love how the neutral colors in her outfit make the blue of the bag really stand out!

It was a brisk morning, so I decided to wear my vest over my favorite leather jacket to give me an extra layer of warmth! I also pinned a decorative patch to secure the end near my shoulder-which helped to show off my initials in the front-win, win!

We played around a little to try out a couple other fun ways to wear the vest! Over a simple, grey turtleneck, I turned the collar into a hood and belted it- I can totally see myself wearing this over leggings with my sneakers for an early morning walk along the Hudson with my pup!

Ashley then flipped the whole vest upside down (brilliance!) which made the length shorter and shifted the location of the monogram to be on the collar. Swingy and super easy to pop on top of any outfit.
