Merry Christmas 2017

The holiday season has always been one of my absolute favorite times of year. Everyone seems to walk with a little bit more of a spring in their step, a stranger maybe holds the door for you or wishes you “Merry Christmas” and it always warms my heart to see how people embrace the season full of love.
The last couple of years, the month leading up to Christmas hasn’t always been the easiest. Last year and again this winter, I am away from my family and friends on a show. And while it is a tremendous blessing to be working during this time of the year, it can be very difficult to spend this season away. I love shopping for gifts, baking cookies and watching my favorite holiday movies with my girlfriends in NYC. I miss having a tree full of my ornaments from over the years, and this year my stocking is in a storage unit somewhere! And my favorite day of the year is usually Christmas Eve, going to church with my family and listening to holiday music around the glowing tree and the fireplace.
But what I always take away from Christmas is to not focus on what I am without, but what I HAVE. This year I am so blessed to have a wonderful job that gives me security, health insurance and has introduced me to some truly special, inspiring new friends.  They have challenged me, made me think about things differently, and pushed me to become stronger and more the woman I want to be. I am able to inspire others through the little musical we perform every night, and help people to see the world in a different light. I have my health, my sweet Ari, my family of friends in NYC who keep me positive and make me look forward to my return home, my unbelievable, supportive family who lift me up every day and I have this little blog that brings me such joy! Whether you are a regular reader or just happened to stumble upon me today, thank you for taking a peek into my adventures and being a part of it. It means the world to me to connect, share and grow together.
I hope you have a beautiful holiday surrounded with your loved ones. I have one more show here in Chicago and then am running to the airport to be with my family to see what Santa brings in the morning!
Merry Christmas!
