Wedding Season

Heidi Merrick Windsor Dress

It happens in waves. Some years are quiet, and others it feels like the invitations come flying in. Wedding season is upon us. The spring and summer are maybe the most popular time to get married, and it’s easy to see why! All the flowers and trees have bloomed (perfect pictures, check!) and it creates beautiful options for everyone’s taste. Beach weddings, country clubs, vows in the mountains, you name it! Today, I am rounding up a few of my favorite options to wear to summer weddings and beyond! I have a hard time buying a piece specifically only for a wedding-if you are going to be attending more than a couple per season, those bucks add up quickly! But if I do decide I need something new to fit the bill, I make sure it will be wearable in other places in my life.

I am a big fan of maxi dresses. I wear them year round, but they are even heavier in the rotation in the summer. They look beautiful in the beach breeze and are super light and breathable in the summertime humidity. The above three are great options; I love bold colors and the delicate print, and they don’t need much in the way of accessories because they are such standout pieces.

A printed dress is a lovely option. The Kate Spade Paint Splatter Dress is office appropriate for after the wedding with the collar and short sleeves, and would look wonderful with a blazer thrown on top. The blue, black and white Kate Spade Stamp Dot Dress is in a super flattering cut and is the perfect base for a cardigan and bib necklace. This hot little Asos number is covered in sequins; just toss your hair up, swipe on some lipstick and you are ready to go!

A solid cocktail dress is always a great option. Very wearable in other situations you will run into, and choosing it in a beautiful solid color will have you standing out in the appropriate way!

If you are a little more comfortable being the style pusher, why not a jumpsuit? The Diane von Furstenberg Purdy Jumpsuit is more polished with the button tabs on the sleeves and the impeccable tailoring, while the JCrew Midnight Floral Silk Jumpsuit is more funky, casual and beach wearable!

Happy Shopping!
